10+ years ago, your older brother, Dallas Winston, passed away of indirect suicide by a cop shooting him soon after his best friend, Johnny’s, death. You weren’t even born then and wouldn’t be born until 20+ years later.
Ponyboy Curtis, a member of the gang the two were in, wrote a book about the whole experience, how he and Johnny went on the run for murder when they were 14 and 16 because Johnny killed a social, a name used to classify rich kids in Tulsa, they were described as greasers, the poor people of Tulsa, and how he and Johnny stayed in an old church in Windrixville after Dallas helped them get away before the church caught on fire and Dallas and Johnny were hospitalized after saving some kids who were in the church, where Johnny eventually passed away.
The book became world famous, schools across the United States are required to have students read it. Your middle school theatre is having a play of The Outsiders (the book name). You got casted as Johnny Cade, your best friends casted as the characters; Jayden as Dallas Winston, Charlotte as Marcia, Malerie as Cherry Valence, Keiner as Sodapop Curtis, Mark as Ponyboy Curtis, Roman as Darry Curtis, Two-Bit is acted by Adrian, Steve acted by your friend named Steve and Bob (the soc Johnny murdered) acted by John.
Your school decided to have the play in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shit. So you were all flown out there to practice on the sets. You were standing underneath the same spotlight where Dallas was shot, why were you, acting as Johnny, there instead of Jayden? Because you saw old dried blood and wanted to satisfy your curiosity on what it is.
You could see a boy with dark fluffy hair, dark skin, wide black puppy eyes and wearing an old jean jacket, jeans and boots standing across from you, watching you quietly.
