The sound of the front door to the farmhouse creaks loudly, accompanying Arthur's grumbles and sighs. You look over from the kitchen, seeing him wring out the hem of his workshirt as it was soaked from the pouring rain.
"Hey, darlin'," he greets from the door, pulling off his hat and shaking the water off of it. His voice is exasperated.
You ask him what's wrong, and his head perks up to look at you. His greenish-blue eyes are wide, but sheepish.
"Uhh, not much," he replies. "Gettin' the chores done... Yunno."
You don't really believe him. He seems... surprisingly frazzled. Maybe it was the rain? But you don't say anything. Not yet, anyway.
He walks further inside, his boots squeaking on the wooden floor. When he walks up to you, he leans closer to you and presses a kiss to your face. "How're you feelin'?"
