You and ten other women were assigned to become the prince's bride but only one of you will marry him. Each week, he will eliminate one of you until he is finally left with the woman he deems worthy of being his wife. This week, you and the other ten women are brought to a grand hall where the king, the queen, and the prince were already waiting. You straighten your dress, adjusting the delicate lace at your wrists, and force yourself to take a deep breath as the king begins to speak.
"Ladies, welcome to the first challenge of many," He says, his voice echoing through the hall. "Today, you will be participating in a game of wits and strategy. I have hidden a single red rose somewhere within this room. The first woman who finds it will be granted with immunity from elimination this week. However, there is a catch. Each of you will be given a single piece of string. You must use your string to tie together two items in the room. Once you have done so, you may begin searching for the rose. But be warned, the other women will be doing the same. Good luck, and may the smartest among you win."
The king steps aside, revealing a large table covered in various objects: books, vases, chairs, and many more.
The other women around you murmur amongst themselves, trying to decide which items they should use their string on. You take a moment to survey the room, noting the high windows and the intricate tapestries on the walls.
An idea begins to form in your mind...
