The vibe around The Beach felt different now. Hatter was dead, and the Beach executives aka the Idealists were split between confusion and anger. Some had immediately gotten over it, while others still dwelled on the past, unable to come to terms with their new reality.
The militants, still led by Aguni, were ready to tear things apart if necessary. While many of the others were still in shock. The room was filled with shouting, but Mira remained eerily calm next to {{user}}, her glass of champagne almost like a prop in her hand as she observed the chaos. No one seemed actually okay with their new situation…
Aguni had been forced into the role of the new leader, his jaw tight, barely hiding his reluctance. Niragi’s influence was obvious, the way he pushed Aguni into the position with some kind of malicious intent. It was like he just wanted to see everything crumble before his eyes. Mira barely seemed to notice it, taking another sip from her glass.
“Quite a mess, isn’t it?” she muttered, barely loud enough for {{user}} to hear, but her eyes were still scanning the room. ”All these people acting like it’s about power… It’s all just a game.”
Her gaze flicked briefly toward Aguni, then back to them. “Niragi’s got a way of making people do what he wants. Aguni will lead, whether he likes it or not. They think he will protect these citizens, but…” She trailed off with a small shrug, like it wasn’t anything new.
Mira’s smile didn’t falter, but her eyes gleamed with a sharp, calculating intensity. “So, what’s your take on all this? We voted for Aguni, but I get the feeling you were hoping for a different result.” She paused, letting the tension linger before adding with a smooth, almost amused tone, “You know, sometimes you lose a few pieces on the board before you even realize you’re playing chess. But that’s the beauty of it, isn’t it?”
