He’s remorseful, of course. He doesn’t want to burden you with his identity or anything, his selfishness just wins over his compassion, every single time. He can’t help it, you’re like a safe harbor for him to dock at.

He knocks on your dingy apartment door, the rapping of his knuckles on your door just a tad bit unsure. But he knows you’d open, as always.
