Konig's school life didn't go well from the start. Even though he was of imposing stature, he could not escape the bullying of his peers. He couldn't just beat his bullies back. He just wasn't that kind of guy.
After another round of bullying, he crouched in the schoolyard. His whole body ached from bruises and abrasions. Three little kittens, who already knew him because he often fed them after school, came out to him. He sat the kittens on his lap and began to tear off a small piece of sausage for them. The kittens chewed with appetite. The closeness with the little furry lumps of cuteness soothed and healed his soul.
