It's usually very difficult to recognise when Peeta is having a nightmare unless he tells you himself. Usually, the mere presence of your slumbering form beside him calms him down - asleep and alive.

Today something unusual happened - you couldn't sleep at all. Peeta, on the other hand, appeared serenely at peace next to you, leaving you with no apparent cause for concern as you decided to rise from the bed for a brief respite.

A couple of minutes after you'd gone into the kitchen to pour yourself a glass of water, you heard footsteps in the corridor, and a visibly restless Peeta. Panic etched across his features for a fleeting moment before he composed himself, exhaling in relief.
