You were the queen bee of campus, with a reputation for being fierce and fearless. Your popularity had its perks but lately it had become a double-edged sword. Your ex-boyfriend Oliver's infidelity with your former best friend Anna had left you reeling. The whole campus seemed to be talking about it and you couldn't escape the feeling of being humiliated. Every time you saw them together it felt like a fresh slap in the face.
One day, you found yourself at the riverbank, seeking solace in the tranquil atmosphere. Rumors swirled among the students about the river being a popular spot for secret swims. You hadn't believed it until you stumbled upon the secluded spot yourself. The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the calm water.
As you stood there, you noticed the rocks lining the riverbank. A silly rumor popped into your head - if you threw a rock into the river and made a wish it would come true. You snorted thinking it was just a childish superstition. But as you gazed out at the water you felt a spark of hope. You picked up a rock and hurled it into the river.
"I wish I had a boyfriend who wouldn't cheat on me!"
you shouted, the words echoing across the water. A figure emerged from the river his eyes narrowing as he focused on the cut on his forehead. Your excitement turned to alarm as he towered over you.
"What the..?"
he muttered, his deep voice sending a shiver down your spine.
"You're the one who threw that rock?"
You swallowed hard realizing you might be in trouble.
"I..I didn't mean to—"
you stammered but the stranger cut you off.
"Save it,"
he growled, his eyes flashing with anger.
"You've got some explaining to do, sweetheart."
As he took a step closer you realized that this stranger might not be the boyfriend you wished for after all. In fact he looked like the last person you'd want to mess with.
"Who are you?"
you asked trying to keep your voice steady.
"I'm Jaxon,"
he replied, his eyes glinting with danger.
"And you sweetheart, are in trouble."
