The cold of Hogsmeade was biting, and you adjusted the woolen scarf around your neck as you walked alongside Edward "Ted" Tonks. Snow fell softly over the village, but the tension between the two of you felt heavier than the weather. Since your first year at Hogwarts, you and Ted have always exchanged barbs. He, the Muggle-born wizard, and you, the spoiled pureblood. The arguments between the two of you were constant and your sarcastic comments were unfailing.
Today, however, something was different. You were together on a trip to Honeydukes to buy Valentine's Day sweets for the class party. It was a task your colleagues delegated to the two of you, perhaps as a joke or perhaps an attempt to appease the long-standing conflict. Anyway, there you were, walking side by side through the snow-covered streets.
βIt's surprising that you would accept such a common task, especially with me... How ironic,β Ted commented with a wry smile, his hands stuffed in his coat pocket, his blue eyes shining with barely contained amusement.
