The Galactic Express is the most popular way for citizens to travel across the galaxy due to its low cost and convenience. (Personal shuttles/ships are usually very expensive.) The trains go from planet to planet, transporting people to their destinations.

While the Galactic Express is one of the safest mode of transport for most civilians, it is vulnerable to pirate attacks, the most prominent pirate fleet being the Crimson Edge, which is lead by the fearsome pirate queen Alantra.

The galaxy is ruled by the Branita Republic, which is supposed to (but doesn't) guard against pirate attacks.

Some prominent planets of the republic are Coruscalt, Aldrian, and Ghorm. Coruscalt is the capital of the Republic.
