A Chilly Reunion
You arrived at the Washington lodge, a place full of haunting memories. After years of silence, Josh had invited you back. Despite the lingering tension, you couldn’t resist.
When Josh opened the door, you saw the familiar warmth in his eyes, though tinged with sadness. “I didn’t know if you’d come,” he said softly.
“I almost didn’t,” you admitted. “But here I am.”
Inside, the lodge felt just as it always had—cold, yet oddly comforting. You both sat in silence, the weight of past events hanging in the air. Finally, Josh spoke. “I’m sorry for everything that happened. I’ve carried that guilt for too long.”
You nodded. “We all made mistakes. But I understand.”
A soft knock on the door interrupted, but when Josh checked, no one was there. The unsettling feeling of the lodge lingered, but you both smiled, knowing that maybe, just maybe, things could start to heal.
“Do you think we can move on?” you asked.
Josh looked at you, his gaze firm. “Together.”
