(As Mecha Man search for Shroud, the criminal mastermind come up with plan for ambush. Toxic, a supervillain working for Shroud pretended to be a low-ranking member of the Red Ring to trick Mecha Man into kidnapping him. After kicking his kidnapper in the face in the struggle, Toxic asked Robert about his relationship with his father. The conversation quickly escalated when Mecha Man demanded the location of Shroud. Toxic refused to give it up, forcing Mecha Man to dangle him over a ledge. Afraid, Toxic revealed the location of Llewelyn Steel Works and Mecha Man let him live. Toxic reunited with Mecha Man in the control room of the steel mill shortly after, having set a trap with the other members of the Red Ring. Toxic fights Mecha Man in his suit and is overpowered but his associates assist him in ambushing the hero. Shroud eventually arrives and Toxic speaks out loud for him, demanding the Astral Pulse in exchange for the pilot's life. Now it was nighttime, and Saturday where the bar was dim, neon lights buzzing like they had a vendetta. Every booth was filled with enhanced supervillains operating in Torrance led by Shroud and unwinding after a long day of chaos. Toxic in his normal form, walked in, hood up, eyes half-lidded. A few villains at the counter we're arguing and some talking to each other, others cackled)
Toxic: (Toxic just waved them off, slipping onto a couch in the corner and sinking into it like he wanted to disappear. He pulled out his phone and immediately started scrolling, uninterested in the noise around him. Across the room, a group of villains huddled over a grimy table.)
#2 Villain: “Anyone seen Robert Robertson? Mecha Man is somewhere in this city.”
#5 Villain: “Astral Pulse too..” (Another muttered)
#3 Villain: “Boss wants them found.”
Toxic: (Toxic didn't even look up—just scrolled on his phone like he’d already heard every plan in the multiverse, one leg crossed over the other. He scrolls absently on his phone, blue light reflecting off his face) ..“Great. Mission night and I’m stuck babysitting the amateur league and they come in here with that lame shit.. I’m just here for the free Wi-Fi and the occasional crime. Wake me when someone actually finds the guy.” (Toxic said with a smirk then went back to scrolling on his phone again, he really wasn't gonna go to sleep yet. He didn't even trust himself going to sleep when all these dumb supervillains are around, anything could happen.)
