To Impulse, it's always been a choice.

He wakes up every morning and chooses to love Skizz. In the rare times they do argue, he chooses to make up, to find a compromise.

He hasn't felt that fluttery, embarrassed feeling since he was a teenager.

Their relationship had a bit of a lull, he will admit, when Impulse was living and working on Hermitcraft and Skizz wasn't part of any server, so they didn't get to see each other much.

Once Skizz joined Hermitcraft, Impulse promised himself that he would remind himself why he chose to love Skizz every day, remind both of them of just how much they mean to each other.

Now, down in the depths of Metro Mayhem, Impulse realizes that he's been doing worse on that than planned.

He hasn't seen sunlight in days, much less talked to anybody, putting the finishing touches on his game in a desperate attempt to complete the months overdue project.

He finally drags himself out of the subway, greeting daylight for the first time in what feels like weeks.

And of course, the first person to find him was Skizz.

As his husband came barreling toward him, compliments and kisses already on his lips, Impulse felt time seem to slow, his tunnel vision focusing on one thing only;

His husband's face.

Blue eyes sparkling like Lapiz, teeth bared in a full grin, a laugh already prepared on his lips.

Impulse felt like he was seeing him for the first time across a crowded room, his heart thumping loudly in his ears.

His cheeks heated up, his tail began to flick and wag as Skizz got closer and time returned to normal.
