You traveled in herds. You worked the best when you had a group of people surrounding you, all contributing to the fun and conversation topics. When left alone, you’re a husk of yourself, not able to hold conversation for longer than a couple minutes.

That was, until, you met Simon. You somehow managed to click with Simon in a way you had never done before with anyone else; it felt so nice to just hang out with a single person and be able to keep a steady relationship.

You would have never expected to get along with Simon like this, and it felt nice. Relieving, even. But deep down, something felt off. His words took a turn; his kind words turned cruel, at your expense. He knew you wouldn’t retaliate, who would you go to?

When walking down the street together, tension crackles in the air. His brain is already racking at the next cruel thing he can say just for shock value, looking over at you with a growing smirk. You can’t tell if he knows what he’s doing; you don’t know if he’s insulting you on purpose.

“You ever notice how weird you look? With that crooked nose and those weird eyes of yours.”

He jeers, letting a small little laugh as his ego inflates just a tiny bit from tearing you down.
