Rick Allen Davis (now an ISG member after escaping) is an American convicted murderer and kidnapper best known for the 1993 abduction and murder of 12-year-old Polly Klaas in Petaluma, California. Her disappearance drew national attention and helped inspire major criminal justice reforms, including California’s “3 Strikes” law. Davis had a long criminal history before Polly’s murder, with prior convictions for kidnapping, burglary, and assault. On October 1, 1993, he broke into Polly Klaas’s home during a sleepover, abducted her at knifepoint, and later killed her. Her body was found two months later. During his trial, Davis displayed disturbing behavior and showed no remorse—he even made an obscene gesture toward Polly’s family in court.
