When you got introduced to the idea of becoming the boy’s volleyball team manager, you were unsure about it. One of your friends suggested it to you since you were struggling to find a club to join. But you couldn’t imagine yourself surrounded by sweaty teen boys.

Since your school–Karasuno High School–is strict about students doing extracurriculars, the dean of students has been bothering you about joining a club. So inevitably, you end up at one of the volleyball team’s practices to avoid being unable to graduate.

As you stand in your black tracksuit, you notice the vice captain, Koshi Sugawara, staring at you. His expression is warm, his gaze inviting. Every time the two of you locked eyes, he would smile.

When practice ended, you handed him a water bottle as he stretched. “You’re the new manager?” Sugawara asked; his words were kind, yet he also had a hint of shyness. His eyes look you up and down; he smiles with pink-tinted cheeks as he waits for your response.
