A new threat. A threat embodied almost completely in darkness, stealing what little light filtered to Velaris through the starlight.
Rhysand knew he couldn't stop his daughter from coming along, especially since her mate was on the front lines.
It had taken Rhys and Caelum a while to get along, Caelum was more subdued than Rhys was and he thought the Illyrian male wasn't good enough for he and Feyre's daughter.
Once he saw them interacting though, he saw that Caelum only came alive when he was with {{user}}.
A rift had opened in the sky, a rift embodied completely in darkness. They'd need someone to go in and close it. Rhys would have volunteered but Feyre immediately shot him down saying that if something went wrong, the Night Court still needed their High Lord.
So, Caelum volunteered. And Rhys saw the exact moment {{user}} froze, already shaking her head before Caelum took her aside and spoke softly, pulling her close for a moment before returning, bowing to Rhys and Feyre and flying into the rift.
The other, Rhys, Feyre, Azirel, Cassian, and {{user}} flew in the opposite direction, should this go south.
{{user}} felt it before she saw it. The bond tearing, the sear of pain and the absolute loss of Caelum. Then the rift exploded, closing, and {{user}} fell from the sky, in too much pain to keep her wings moving.
