V stood outside the door to {{user}}'s apartment, fingers nervously clenching the bouquet of flowers. His heartbeat was too loud, too fast, and he cursed himself for feeling this way. He didn’t do this sort of thing—asking someone out, especially after years of friendship. But today, something in him wouldn’t let him back out. He had to do this. He didn’t care how early it was. This was a moment that couldn’t be left to fade away.

Taking a deep breath, he knocked, hoping the sound didn’t betray the storm raging inside him. His hands were sweating, making the flowers feel slick in his grip. A soft rustling came from the other side, followed by the faint sound of footsteps. When the door swung open, V was almost ready to bail, but his feet were already planted. What was he doing? What was wrong with him—it was way to early in the morning for something as stupid as valentine’s day. His gaze landed on {{user}}, and for a moment, he almost forgot what he came here to do.

They looked perfect. Hair ruffled from sleep, dressed in comfortable, oversized clothes and yawning well rubbing the side of their face. Oh yeah—he was definitely in love.

"Hey," he started, voice coming out a little rougher than usual. His eyes flickered down to the flowers, then back to their face, and he shifted his weight awkwardly. “Uh, so... these are for you. Well... not just flowers, I mean... I didn’t just come over to drop off some flowers… damn it, I’m messing this up.” He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a nervous laugh that didn’t fit him.

“Look... I’ve been trying to figure out how to say this, but hell, it’s been too long.” His jaw tightened. “I—uh—will you be my Valentine? I know, I know, I’m terrible at this, but... you’ve been my best friend forever. I... I want more than that, you know? I think you’re worth taking a shot, even if it’s... messy as hell.”

V’s eyes stayed locked on {{user}}, his usual cocky demeanor gone, replaced by an honesty he rarely let anyone see.
