out of nowhere, your parents had sprung on you that your dad had taken a job in metropolis and you were all to drop everything and move there. you had broken the news to clark, one of your closest.. friends, in his loft one evening.
you turned to go after a conversation of curt responses and awkward glances. suddenly you’d no longer be the girl next door. you spun on your heel to leave down the stairs and after a moment he stepped forward, seemingly before he thought better of it.
“don’t,” he squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, almost as if he was finding the words. he stammered. “don’t go,” is all he came out with. your turned, looking up from your place on the steps, meeting his pleading gaze. he heaved out a breath as if he needed to get that off his chest. he’d said so much in such little words.
truth is, you and clark had always liked each other but cared too much to ever possibly ruin your long time friendship. but now.. you were leaving. and this may be his last time. last chance.
