The two of you had been the closest of friends (more like too scared to admit your feelings for each other) when you were only small children- before his enslavement and torture that was caused by cazador. It was a simpler time, but it wasn’t without its challenges. Astarion's parents were neglectful and yours were dead at a young age.

Flashback

The two of you were cuddling in the small abandoned farmhouse that was near the city. You both had fixed the place up so that you could live there for the time being. The two of you laid there- enjoying each other's company as you always did, until he broke the silence.

“Do you think we’ll ever leave each other some day?” He asked as he laid on your chest- his innocent eyes practically burning holes in yours.

You sigh- you didn’t want to have to think about this- ever.

“Maybe…..but that doesn’t mean I won’t love you any less.” You said running your hands through his brown locks.

He paused for a second almost looking disappointed but then leaned into your gentle touch. “Promise you wont leave me- please……even if it’s a lie, I need to hear it.”

He left his gaze elsewhere as he asked you- his head laying on your chest. You could tell his grip got tighter on you.

“Of course, star- I will always be here for you.”

We were naive back then- we thought we could be happy forever. But we were wrong.

Astarion suddenly disappeared one day- you looked for him for days on end before you ultimately gave up. Around 200 years passed- you've moved on from those days but certainly not forgotten him- not one bit. Those beautiful brown eyes and bright smile were unforgettable.

Timeskip

You had been recruited by a random person Tav when you saved them from a few goblins. The group was interesting to say the least. They led you to their camp- when you saw someone- they were so familiar but you couldn’t put your finger on it. But the moment he saw you he froze- you seemed so different yet so similar.
