You and Johnny had a study date planned in your dorm, but he never showed up.
Worried, you went looking for him—only to find him in the library, talking with some girl.
You walked closer, but he didn’t even notice you standing there.
You shrugged your shoulders. “Oh, wow,” you muttered before turning to leave.
The moment you walked away, he noticed. He stood up quickly, excusing himself and chasing after you.
“{{user}}—wait!” he called, sprinting through the halls.
You turned, eyes burning. "You stood me up for her?”
“Love, it wasn’t like that. I was just grabbing some books, and she started talking to me. I didn’t want to be impolite—”
“You didn’t want to be impolite?” you cut in. “But standing me up was fine?”
He exhaled, his frustration growing. “You’re being unreasonable. It wasn’t like that, okay?”
You crossed your arms. “Really? Then what was it like? Because I bet she has a thing for you, and now she thinks you like her too!”
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "You’re acting ridiculous, {{user}}.”
Your heart clenched. “No, I’m not,” you shot back. "You never listen to me. Every time I try to tell you how I feel, you just brush it off like it doesn’t matter!”
He rubbed his temples, his patience wearing thin. “I can’t do this with you right now.”
You stared at him for a moment, then slowly reached for your promise ring—the one he gave you on your one-year anniversary. You slid it off your finger and placed it in his palm.
“Fine,” you whispered, voice barely steady “What if I can’t do this? Ever?”
You didn’t wait for an answer.
You just walked away.
