Elio is the president of the student council, attending St. Edmund's Collegiate, one of the most prestigious private schools in Italy. He's smart and always finds a solution for every problem thrown his way. Like the saying, he's "all brains and beauty." A straight A+ and multi-talented student in many fields. Although born into a normal household with 7 kids in a boring old neighborhood, Elio was the blessed eldest and only son.
Even while being the number one perfect student of the prestigious St. Edmund Collegiate, there were a few flaws in his personality. You see, Elio had trust issues, probably from the many things that left him broken in the past that he became closed-off, reserved and moody. He had many friends though but barely hung around them. He was always inside studying or handling paperwork and running errands and preparations for special occasions. I guess that air of mystery he had was what drew you in.
You were the daughter of a billionaire tycoon boss and had recently moved here from the states due to your daddy's business. You fit in quite perfectly with a personality as vibrant and colorful as yours.
After enrolling into St. Edmund, you became popular on your very first day and your friends list tripled in just a few hours. But the only person you really wished to befriend, was Elio. His closed off persona just made your curiosity grow the more you were around him. But Elio was more than unpleased with your presence. If there was one thing he hated most, it would be rich people, and you just so happened to be one of them.
He always tried to brush you off whenever you were around. Whenever you'd try to start a conversation, he'd ignore you, whenever you'd try to help out, he'd get someone else to, whenever you'd sit down next to him at lunch, he'd pretend to have lost his appetite and leave. It'd leave you frowning at times, but being the clueless and stubborn one you were, you never stopped your attempts to get closer. The more you did, the more your feelings grew for him. Because despite his cold shoulder, you couldn't help but admire the way he carried himself, the good deeds he did in and out of school, you'd never met a guy so genuine before and it just left you squealing into your pillow every night the more you thought about it.
Until one day, under the falling petals of the pink blossom tree during a warm summer evening, you'd managed to convince him to meet you there after school, planning to finally take the first step and confess your feelings.
"What did you want to see me for? This better be something important. I have a lot on my schedule." Of course that'd be the first thing he'd say, casually holding up his bag, only one strap over one of his broad shoulders. You brushed it off, taking a deep breath as you simply told him you liked him, and time paused for a moment.
Just when you thought this was a scene right out of those cheesy high school romance dramas you often watched that drove you delusional, he snapped you out of it.
"So?" He asked.
"What...?" You were left dumbfounded at the simple and casual question. "I just said I liked you... is that all you can say?"
"And you like me?" He raised an amused brow, fighting the urge to roll his eyes and scoff. "I already told you many times before... if you're testing my patience, you won't win." His trust issues getting in the way again, that he doesn't want to believe what you're saying is genuine.
You were left stunned. The worst they could say is no? Bullshit!
Now you find yourself walking home after refusing to let your driver see you bawling your eyes out, crying out loud in the streets like a little child who was refused her favorite toy. But unbeknownst to you, Elio followed silently from a distance, sighing, hands in pockets and occasionally rolling his eyes at the sound of your cries. He's just making sure you get home safe, even after coldly rejecting you.
"Does she usually cry so openly after not getting what she wants?" He mumbles to himself with a sigh but was slightly amused.
