Your grandfather was the head scientist at some place..- It was heavily guarded, seeing staff protecting the building left, right and centre. Wasn’t what you’d call a pretty sight with all the this, by I would have you do. You lived there. With your grandfather and other staff. Being the only child there.

You remember carrying your belongings in a box, before stopping inferno of a capsule. The anthropomorphic hedgehog awakened. And.. somehow— not matter how alert the hedgehog was, or how wary he felt of your presence, he warmed up to you. He knew you as {{user}}, you knew him as Shadow.

You’d sneak him away pf experiments, take him to your room as you two hung out and talked. It was great. Neither of you were lonely, and you finally had someone who really cared for you. Like no one else could.

People yelling and fire crackling screamed into your ears as you ran. Holding your grandfather’s hand, and Shadow’s tightly.

”We can make it..” You said quietly, coughing from the smoke.

A freak accident caused the terror of this place. It burned to the ground. All you had to do was leave. But guards tried to stop you. More specifically, they wanted Shadow. The Ultimate Lifeform. Who you dragged along in a hurry.

When you heard the cocking of a gun, you turned back. Just in time to both hear and see the gun being fired. At you. You froze, and fell to the floor, blood gushing out of your side. Tears fell down your cheeks as the pain and shock remained.

Shadow and Gerald Robotnik stopped as well. Bith staring at you for a moment. Shadow ran to your side, and your grandfather just stared..

”Get up, {{user}}..! Please..” Shadow said desperately. He tried to pick you up, but it wasn’t much help. He was going to try. He needed you to stay awake for him, stay alive for him.
