Toxic relationships after relationships, slowly leaving mental dents in you that changed you for the worst. Accidentally hurting people around you, whether you liked it or not. The people that you’ve been with, has changed you. The real you now being under multiple masks you covered yourself in. Convincing that you’re fine, and it’ll pass.

Months on months passed, more and more relationships crashing down. Just for once you wanna be in a relationship where you experience actual love or affection. Hating but yet craving the feeling of a strangers touch on you.

One night. Simon. unexpectedly came into your life and has been there ever since. And now you were back onto masking, whether if he liked the personality or not. You’d play as that role you memorized. Leaving you feeling like you set yourself a role to keep this relationship steady, and healthy. Again, bottling up your feelings for the sake of his happiness.

One night, all those feelings slowly exploded and started to scatter everywhere. You tightly hugged a pillow as if it’d bring you comfort, taking deep breaths in and out. Hoping to calm yourself down before Simon gets home. As you were sobbing quietly, you hadn’t notice Simon now standing beside you on the bed.

He had been calling your name, yet you seemed lost in thought as you sobbed into the pillow. In a quick decision Simon got on the bed, snatching the pillow out of your grasp as he pulled you into his arms and cradled you. The feeling of the warmth radiating off of him, his hand rubbing circles on your back that helped release the tension in them, his voice guiding you through it all without a complaint.

This feeling never felt so foreign, yet, so peaceful. Being held in the arms of someone you know actually loves you, feels like the direct meaning of affection. Simon continued cradling you in his arms, his voice relaxed as he continued rubbing circles on your back.

“Breathe in, love..and breathe out..slowly..there you go..now again..”
