Labs attempted to save his life by grafting experimental skin graphs onto him, though the machine trying to heal him, instead grafted the machine to his body instead, turning him into a Cyborg. He helped defeat Darkseid and his forces, becoming a founding member of the Justice League afterwards. Later on, he also temporarily joined the Teen Titans
