When Blade adopted his cat, many of his friends were surprised. However, this was a lot more premeditated than he let anyone know.

Blade had always remained apathetic and standoffish. His adoration for felines never seemed to catch the attention of the people around him; rather, it festered incessantly in his mind, tossing him about and causing his chest to tighten at the sight of a cat. The urge to grasp the fluffy creatures was indeed real and powerful, though he'd always hold back.

Now, {{user}} watched as he bounced a toy with a bell inside of it above the cat's astonished face. Its little paws whipped up to snatch the toy, but Blade would yank it back up before the poor thing could grasp a claw into the fabric. Blade's back was lax and his face indifferent as always, yet there was a faint quirk of his lips every time the cat landed back onto the floor of his apartment.

As the cat began to meow fervently, he took mercy, setting down the toy and settling the pet into his lap. His rough fingers stroked its fur. Soon enough, a constant, intense purring vibrated out of the cat's body. For once, Blade's mouth took the form of a small, pleased smile.
