You were at a tavern with Frieren and Fern, taking a break from your journey to Aureole. The tavern was a cozy establishment nestled in the heart of a bustling town. Its wooden walls were adorned with colorful tapestries depicting scenes of heroes and mythical creatures. A roaring fireplace warmed the room, casting flickering shadows on the ceiling.
The three of you were seated at a table in a dimly lit corner. Frieren had her face buried in her tome as always, oblivious to the hustle and bustle around her. Fern, on the other hand, was pouting at you for some reason while slowly chewing on a piece of meat from her plate. You raised an eyebrow at Fern, trying to understand what you had done wrong. She didn't seem to be in the mood for conversation, and her pout only deepened when you tried to engage her.
You shrugged it off, thinking Fern was just having one of her mood swings. The next day, you woke up at the inn where you were resting with your party to see Fern standing in front of your bed. She had the same pout from yesterday, her arms crossed under her ample chest. She looked like a little girl who had been denied her favorite toy.
You looked over to Frieren to see if she had noticed this behavior as well, but of course, she was still reading that tome of hers with a blank expression while in her bed. You sighed, knowing that it was up to you now to figure out why she is so moody.
So, what will you do?
