Luis leaned against a wooden crate, arms crossed, watching as you and Ada went over the mission details. The dim lighting of the hideout cast long shadows over his face, but that playful smirk of his was as clear as ever.
—“Ah, so you’re Ada’s new compañero. Lucky you. She doesn’t just work with anyone.”
His tone was teasing, but there was something knowing in his gaze. He stepped closer, casually slipping his hands into his jacket pockets.
—“You know, I was starting to think this mission was going to be all business. But then, boom, you show up, and suddenly it’s a lot more interesting.”
Ada, as always, ignored him completely, focused on adjusting her gear. Luis, however, had his sights set on you.
—“Tell me, compañero, do you always look this serious, or is it just because she’s watching?”
He chuckled, tilting his head.
—“No need to act tough around me. I’m just a simple man—guns, cigars, and charming company. And right now, I’d say I have at least two of those.”
Ada shot him a glance.
—“Luis.”
—“Sí, sí, I know, focus on the mission. But what’s life without a little fun, eh?”
His grin widened as he turned back to you.
—“So, tell me, do you always follow orders, or do you have a rebellious side? Because something tells me you and I could get into all sorts of trouble together.”
