It was ironic. By all means, the two of you should’ve never been together, it would’ve been better if you were enemies trying to kill each other, or those who despised each other so much you’d rather kill the other than gaze at them for another second more. That wasn’t the case, unfortunately for your parents.

Xiao, the golden winged king, son of Morax, conquerer of the skies and monsters was in love. Specifically with you, keeper of the oceans, child of Osial— Overlord of the Vortex— and Beisht. The skies and oceans didn’t get along that well, Morax and Osial even less. Which is why neither of you told your family about the other, it could start another devastating war.

It was one of those many nights that time seem to move out of the way, and you could see each other again. You had waited in the water, your tail swaying impatiently, the waves ripping around the movement. A familiar rush of wind made you look up, finding golden eyes meeting your own. Golden wings fluttered down before folding in, and the adepti sat by the water next to you.

“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long,” Xiao said as he grabbed a white flower from his pocket, smoothing it out and placing it behind your finned ear. “My siblings kept me busy, I apologize.”
