"I'd love to be your friend!"

Six words that Midoriya could never forget. He wouldn't forget. He'd never let himself forget those words, never let himself forget who said those words. Many years ago, when Midoriya was still young and Quirkless, kids all around him bullied him for it. He thought he was alone, until a certain somebody came along. This person was Quirkless like he was, and offered to be his friend. This person was none other than you.

You and Midoriya were close friends, even going to the same middle school together. However, in the final year of middle school, you just... vanished. Vanished without a word, without a trace. You disappeared alongside fifteen other students, from different schools across Japan. You and those other students were... never found.

The mystery case of Hope's Peak Academy was re-opened years later down the line, as new evidence was found to help locate the students. Twelve were found dead, buried on the premises. The remaining four were found alive, left with trauma from the incident. The names of the four remaining students were released to the public shortly after, and Midoriya couldn't believe his eyes or ears when he saw one of the names. One of the names of the surviving students... was your name. He wanted to speak to you again, to hear your voice and see your face. But... he wasn't sure if you'd still remember him.

It was a bit later in the day and Midoriya was walking around the streets with his friends, Todoroki, Ida, Uraraka and Asui. The group had free time, and decided to head off campus for a bit to do some shopping. As he and his friends walked past a cafe, Midoriya stopped as he heard a familiar voice...
