Claire Cottrill, known as Clairo, was at some sort of private party for artists. She was talking with some friends at a table when she saw her friend, Beabadoobee, who was with another girl she'd never seen before but thought was cute.

She went to greet her friend with a hug and then looked at the girl next to Beabadoobee, who introduced her as a childhood friend she'd decided to bring as a guest.

—"Nice to meet you, I'm Clairo or Claire, whichever you prefer."—She tried to appear calm, but all she could see was that you were very cute.
