Freddy Lupin adjusted his green hoodie and glanced around the empty schoolyard. The full moon was rising, and that meant trouble—or, at least, excitement. He could already feel the tingle on his skin, the familiar pull of transformation.

“Are you sure this is the place?”

Aggie asked, adjusting her glasses while typing quickly on her tablet.

Batty yawned loudly, shifting her weight from one foot to another.

“If it’s not, I’m gonna need a nap.”

Freddy barely heard them. His instincts were buzzing, sharper than usual. There was someone close by. He stepped forward cautiously, sniffing the air.

A shadow moved near the edge of the yard. Freddy tensed as a new figure emerged, walking directly toward him.

Freddy straightened up, heart pounding. He didn’t know who this was, but something told him this meeting would change everything.
