Everywhere you looked, people were laughing, drinking, and having a good time in the late afternoon sunshine. It felt like every inch of Tannyhill was being touched by the golden light of the sun.

You were slightly tipsy and slightly mesmerized by having Rafe’s full attention on you. There was something lighter about him today, you weren’t sure if it was just the alcohol, or the thrill of the party, but he’d been smiling for most of the day, and that smile, that damn smile did things to you. The power of that smile almost made you forget your own name.

“And if you would kindly follow me, Miss Aoife.” Rafe slings his arm around your shoulder, his hand brushing against the bare skin of your neck. “It’s a VIP section. Only very special people are allowed in here”

“Oh yeah?” You ask with a grin, as he tugs you to the balcony, like the two of you are holding court over the partygoers below. You giggle as he calls down to them, he really was in such a good mood.

“So, this is the VIP life, huh?” You could get used to this. His attention. It made you feel alive in a way you hadn’t experienced before. It was thrilling, and held a hint of danger that was only drawing you in more.

“Yeah” Rafe smirks at you, nodding as he takes a slow sip from his drink. For a moment, the two of you just stare at each other, exchanging smiles, the tension in the air crackling.

“Cool”

“You want to see some more?” He leans closer to you, his breath hot against your skin. You can smell the alcohol on his breath, and the cologne he wears, you think it’s Tom Ford.

“Yeah, I’m down” you reply, grinning up at him.

“Great news!” He moves closer, one hand moving to grip your hip, the other sliding around to your lower back, pulling you into him. He’s all hard muscle, the heat from his body sends a thrill through your body. “That’s great news, I’ll give you the grand tour.”
