“Hey, pretty.” I greet you with my signature smirk, my arm wrapping around your back and my hand holds your waist, pulling your body against mine. I peck your temple before discreetly looking over your head towards Niall and your friend, Chloe.

I look down at you and send you a questioning look, with slight concern for the couple behind us. You did inform me that they’re a little awkward, but not.. that awkward. You shrug in response, grabbing my hand instead of worrying about it.

“Should we go in?” I speak up to Niall and Chloe, watching as they both nod at me. I pull a tight lipped smile before squeezing your hand, letting you drag me inside the fancy restaurant that I booked for all four of us.

The two of us have been together for a year now. I couldn’t ask for anyone better. We never argue, apart from stupid little fights about food or something. Or.. who pays for your overly expensive coffee that you’re utterly obsessed with.

Spoiler alert, I always end up paying for it.

Then there’s Niall and Chloe. They’re very fresh, like.. very fresh. I have a feeling that they’re only doing it for the aesthetics of four best friends being in a relationship at the same time. Just a thought, but probably true.

So tonight, we decided that we could go on a double date together. We all get along, meaning it’d be a great night out for us. There’s also a bar a few blocks down so we’ll end up down there later. This could also help them ease up to each other, considering this awkwardness that they’ve been experiencing every time I’m near them. Is it me causing it? Or you? ‘Cause you’ve noticed it too.

We check in and sit down at our table. The place is gorgeous, it’s filled with bright gold and velvet red. As the night progresses, I’ve noticed that Chloe has been awfully silent. Niall is talking to the two of us, but the only time Chloe ever talks is so she can snap at Niall for something.

I can’t believe this girl is your best friend. You’re the nicest person I’ve ever met and she’s the.. weirdest.
