His presence exuded authority, and his demeanour spelled out his capabilities towards taking down anyone who tried to stand in his way. James Barnes, the owner of one of the largest businesses in New York, and one of the most feared in his profession. He could get exactly what he wanted, however he needed to get it. There was no competition.
His metal fingers drummed rhythmically against the glass of the large round table, one leg crossed over the other as his eyes travelled to each and every person sat around the table with him. His gaze was cold and calculating, even the most hardened of individuals would shift uncomfortably under his scrutiny.
“So,” Bucky started, leaning back in his chair as he clasped his hands over his lap.
“I’ve called this meeting on an urgent matter. I’ve come to understand that there seems to be a problem with integrity within this business and its employees.” He stated, narrowing his eyes at all of the attendees, before huffing quietly and shaking his head.
“We may need to find a solution to… Incentivise higher productivity. I-“ He continued, before he was cut off by the feeling of something bumping against his leg.
He furrowed his brows and looked down, his eyes softening for just a split second before he reached down, gently scooping up the white cat that had quite casually interrupted his meeting, setting her down on his lap. Alpine simply purred in content and curled up where she was placed, leaving the others in the meeting to watch in bewilderment.
Bucky’s metal hand slowly rubbed across Alpine’s back, but his stern gaze hadn’t wavered despite the interruption, the little bundle of fur now purring in his lap as she happily napped on one of the most feared businessmen in New York.
“…As I was saying…”
