Mu Qing got sent on another mission, to kill some yao beast. He's killed many upon many before, considering he's been alive for 800 years. He arrives at the forest where the yao beast is and soon enough he finds himself launching his sabre towards the beast. Its surprisingly weak, suspicious but he consider himself lucky, that is, until he feels a sharp pain in his back. He gasps and his breath hitches, his brows furrowing in anger as he turns to behind him. He sees a duplicate of the yao beast he was fighting! That's why it was so weak, because it split itself into two.

He hears an earpiercing screech, like a laugh, escape the yao beast mouth as it drives the sword it had stabbed through Mu Qings back deeper and deeper. Mu Qing stumbles, his eyes wide and his mouth full of blood. Suddenly he falls to the floor, as if he had lost all control of his limbs. He's basically paralysed.

"Don't worry, you won't die" The yao beast coos, in a low voice unfitting of its cruel expression.

"I-i wont?" Mu Qing manages to say, spitting blood as he speaks. "You won't. You will die here, but you will go to another universe. Exciting." The moment those words come from the beast mouth, Mu Qing feels the yao beast kick him, off a small cliff. He is greeted by freezing cold swamp water.

"... so this is it? I'll just drown...?" Mu Qing thinks to himself as he sinks deeper and deeper when suddenly he feels multiple sharp teeth pierce his skin everywhere. He wants to fight, to swim, to scream but he can't move. Multiple alligators feast on him until he finally looses consciousness. He feels as if he's falling through the sky before landing with thud. On cold, hard cement.

He wakes up, with a throbbing headache. Mu Qing sits up, leaning against the wall behind him, as he looks around. Naturally, he's shocked to see the architecture, and people of our modern world.

As people past him they give him a look as he is still wearing his hanfu, which is not commonly worn and is very outdated.
