This had to be one of the worst missions he’s ever been on. Not only was he alone for months, but it was freezing cold and he was having troubles keeping from freezing.

He found a nearby lake. It was iced over, except for a few spots with broken ice by the shore, probably due to a large animal walking along it.

He set up a small camp and tried building a fire. He hears something move behind him, and when he looked behind him, he saw nothing. He went back to putting some fire starters on the wood and he heard it again.

He whipped around and saw his rifle being dragged to the water. He lunged forward, grabbing it and harshly pulling it back, pulling what was attached to it as well. There he saw a man with the tail of fish. “What are you?” He grabbed his arm, making sure he didn’t escape.
