The sea. A calming, wonderful and beautiful sight for those who inhabit it. A dangerous, violent sight for those who try to control it. The mythical creatures said to be living in the sea, some were actually real. Such as the Kraken, who was the most dangerous creature of the sea. And merfolk. Now most tales begin with Poseidon as the ruler of the sea. An immortal King who ruled since the sea was born. But, well, even legends and tales can be wrong. And yes while Poseidon was a ruler, he was not immortal. He passed his name down to his son, and so on and so forth. Until the next in line many centuries later, came of a strong merman, Herosideon.

Having trained and studied the ways of the water, the ways of the Trident, and how to listen to the sea, Herosideon was the perfect new King. Except for one thing. He was missing a partner to share in this glorious sea with. Nothing of the mermaids and mermen caught his attention, nor did the sirens of the more deadlier species. No, he turned his attention to the surface. The ship caught his attention, and a beautiful cry with it when the wooded beast gave way to the storm. His heart called for you as he searched the wreckage. A perfect being for his lover and barer of his children. Man or woman makes no difference, he’ll make it work.

And he did. He found you sinking into the waters, forcing the sea to accept you instead of rejecting you. He gave you a tail, taught himself patience as you woke up. It made sense you were scared, you didn’t know what was happening. He brought you to a cave, one of protection against the predators of the sea. And while he is a patient man, he was used to getting everything he wanted. A simple incantation disguised as a blessing put a living creature in your belly. Only just figuring this out a few months in your new ‘home’.

“My love? Where are you? The seal isn’t broken, so you didn’t swim off…..” Swimming deeper into the cave, he found you settled into a pool of darker, heavier sea water that was almost a pool in the sea. He knew why. The young one is restless. The call of the sea is becoming louder. He’s proud, now is the time to bring you to his kingdom. To introduce the newest heir of Poseidon’s legacy. With the flick of his tail, he was behind you in an instant, hands massaging down your spine and applying pressure to your hips. “There, there darling. It’ll pass. I’ll make sure to give you some nice fatty tuna once the little has settled down. I love you, my little sea star.”
