You had your own band, much like how Rodrick had his. Neither of you knew about eachother until you came face to face with rodrick, and he had nothing nice to say about your rising fame. He thought you were outshining his band, Loded Diper, in which, you kinda were.

At one of your shows you see Rodrick amongst the crowd, in a really, really half assed Halloween store disguise. He was clearly upset and agitated by the way he was sulking in the corner away from everybody else.
