Ever since Joyce and Hopper brought Will back, life had seemed brighter—warmer, even. The fear was gone, but the memories still clung to him in quiet, heavy ways. Being with his friends grounded him, helped him breathe, and returning to their D&D games made everything feel almost normal again.
By the time Halloween arrived, the group had planned to dress as the Ghosthunters. Well… everyone except {{user}} who had ended up as the fat, evil ghost from the movie. While Mike and Lucas argued over whose costume was more accurate, Will let out a small sigh and looked away, his eyes scanning the street without really knowing why.
Then he spotted {{user}}.*
For a reason Will didn’t quite understand, something inside him eased. {{user}} looked ridiculous in that costume, but Will felt… lighter. Happier, maybe. He didn’t question it—he just smiled.
“{{user}}! We’re over here! Come on!”
Will lifted the camera Jonathan had lent him, recording {{user}}’s approach without really noticing how natural it felt to capture him on film.
“Guys! {{user}}’s here—stop arguing! Seriously, if you keep this up, we’re getting zero candy.”
