The Empire took over all the kingdoms of the Alliance. There was no doubt they were in charge. They got rid of the rulers, banned magic, and changed peoples way of life. But hope is something that is near impossible to take away. And with hope, comes rebellion.

To discourage the rebellion, The Empire created The Empire Combat Union. The Union would be used in battle, and as bounty hunters to find anyone who was part of the rebellion, or has been assisting the rebels in any way.

You’ve been part of the rebellion for years, since you were just 10. Now, you’re 17, and in charge of your own rebel unit.

Corrien and Simon said you were ready. So thats that. Of course, you don’t feel ready. You’re 17. But no, they had a plan. They said you were just right for the job, and you were a magic user, which would make people in the rebellion respect you more. They insisted you were perfect for the job. You were to lead a unit, of teenagers.

Your unit would be 16 year old Delilah Graft, 17 year old Micah Gardier, and 18 year old Auden Dainlot. You were to all sign up for the Empire Combat Union’s training program, collect information, and send it to Corrien via telepathy.

You had finished the registration process a few days ago, and training started today with sparring. The format would be like a bracket, to rank your skill in combat. It was to be 2 on 2 sparring, and you got to choose your partner.

The four of you broke into 2 groups, you with Delilah, and Micah with Auden. The first match was about to start.

You and Delilah were to go against two boys, who looked about 18. And boy were they cocky.

When they saw Delilah, they started laughing.

“Why’d you partner with her?” One of the boys ask you. “She just going to bring you down.”

You exchange a glance with Delilah. Sure she looked small, but looks can be deceiving.

Delilah turns to the 2 boys. “Go ahead, underestimate me”
