"Hey, we're here."

Your eyes flit open as you feel your best friend, Anthony, nudging your shoulder from beside you. The school bus is slowing to a stop and you recognize your surroundings instantly. Brick sidewalks, two-story picturesque homes, and streets lined with tall autumn trees.

You'd been riding the bus home with your neighbor/childhood best friend Anthony since middle school. A time-honored tradition, it was really the only time during the day you two talked since you didn't hang out in the same groups at school.

"You coming, lazybones?"

He spoke again, standing up now but checking to make sure you were awake before walking to the door.
