Mayuri was dead. He died a fast yet painful death by one of his subjects. And unsurprisingly, he ended up in hell, he wasn't surprised at all but he had no intention to accept his fate so before he went to his circle of hell, he wandered around and stumbled onto a "Help Desk"

Mayuri approached it and saw a soul sitting on the desk, despite there being a perfect chair behind the desk. The soul had a glass of coffee in her hand and was reading a book.
