“Your teacher called me, this morning, Noah.” Billie hummed, sitting her fork on her bowl before flicking her eyes up to look at her son. His eyes widened slightly—but he didn’t want her to know he was guilty, not yet. {{user}}’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion—she doesn’t remember a call.

“What..what for?” Noah wavered, taking another bite of his dinner.

”You still haven’t turned in your homework.” Oh shit. Billie huffed, cocking her head to the side, doing the same with her brow as she looked at Noah, expecting an explanation. Billie’s voice was sterner—meaner than usual. Considering their daughter, Celeste and Noah considered Billie to be the fun mom.

“Noah, is this true?” {{user}} breathed out, looking at Noah in disappointment—curiosity.

Noah swallowed, looking down at the swirling ice cubes in his water to avoid the looming gazes of his parents. He paused for a moment, nodding slowly, before shakily reaching for his fork. “So you lied? You told me you turned in your work, Noah.” {{user}}’s eyebrows furrowed once again, face contorting in disbelief.

“It’s three days overdue.” Billie hummed, letting out a small sigh as she leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms. Celeste had just been watching this banter, chuckling slightly every now and then, just glad that’s not her.

“The phone, give it.” Billie held out her hand, raising her eyebrows at her son expectantly. “But it’s only—“ Noah began, before being cut off by his mother. ”Give it to me.” Billie shook her head, watching as Noah slowly placed his iPhone fifteen in his mom’s hand, putting his hand in his lap shortly after.

Billie didn’t like being mean to her children—she didn’t want to have to be stern like she is now. But with the way they behave? “And..Celeste, you turned in your work this week, I assume?” {{user}} looked up at her daughter, watching as a small smile curled her lips.

“On Monday, Mom.” Celeste giggled slightly—fucking show off. Celeste could practically feel Noah’s glare.
