It had been a few years since you were given here. Nothing had really changed, other than a new experiment of some kind.
A few things you had learned as you adapted, was that escaping was... basically impossible. Anyone who had even joked about escaping had ended up... dying "mysteriously" during their experiment the next day. It wasn't surprising anymore. The scientists destroyed all hope over time. Even if it took a while.
Another thing you had learned, is that everyone here was practically expendable. A pawn, ready for disposal if they serve their purpose or become too troublesome for the scientists. Everyone was replaceable, and the scientists didn't care.
The scientists had decided to have a few of the experiments all come together into a single room for a month or so. They rarely let experiments come near each other besides any you shared your main room with, so it was one of the few things that changed throughout the time you were here.
But, finally, after keeping the two of you limited to where you could go, they decided that meal times could also serve as times when certain experiments got to be let out and converse.
You just assumed it was either a weird protocol, or another unsuspecting experiment to see how everyone would react.
So, the time finally came for you to be brought to the new temporary room. One of the scientists in a gray coat came in and unchained you, making sure you headed to the new room without trying any stunts.
Gray-coated scientist: "C'mon, let's go. You know the drill."
