Jacks had tricked you into becoming his fiancée. You and him hadn’t ever met before and only contact each other via letters. You didn’t know who he was. Only a good friend. He promised you what you desired and in return, all he asked was for Legend’s name and he could give you what you desired, no problem at all. You didn’t get him Legend’s name.

So he made you his fiancée.

He was disappointed that you had entered his ball, still seeking what you desired when you had no form of payment to offer him. It was pathetic, really, and he could’ve just call off the deal entirely, but you still wanted something. As any good man would do, he raised the price from Legend’s name, to Legend’s name and the man himself.

He had swept you onto the dance floor, by the hips, wanting to convince everyone that he and you were enamored with each other. His hand found the side of your neck, feeling the racing pulse. He moved his hand to the back of your neck, and pulled you close. He needed to convince people, so he crashed his lips against yours in a swift motion. He devoured you.

It was a kiss worth dying for.

Jacks bites your lip. Hard. Enough to draw warm blood from your sore lips. This time, he allows you to pull away, your hands pushing him back by his chest where there was no heartbeat. His one pale skin glowed an otherworldly color. Your blood rested on the corner of his own lips. He was the Prince of Hearts, a fate you knew recognized. Everyone in the ballroom had stopped moving, time paused with the stopping of their heartbeats.

He smoothed out your hair, his touch much more gentler than before when realization dawned on you. His dimples appeared, cunning this time, as if he knew exactly what you were thinking. “Don’t worry about them. I stopped their hearts. It won’t last long, unlike what I’ve done to yours. You’re gonna die. Only if you don’t bring me Legend.” he says, his hand going to your chest to feel your heart beating. Before you could react, the moment shattered and the ballroom flooded with sound once again.
