You stepped quietly into the garden, knowing Draco would be there.
“Hey, Draco, guess what—” you began.
But then everything stopped.
Your breath caught in your throat.
Just beyond the rose bushes, you saw Draco’s arms wrapped tightly around another girl. Their lips were pressed together.
“What the hell—?” Your voice was barely more than a strangled whisper.
Draco pulled back, his eyes widening in shock. “It’s not what it looks like,” he said quickly.
You swallowed hard, tears pricking your eyes. “You’re cheating on me,” you snapped.
“I’m sorry,” Draco murmured.
But you couldn’t stay. Not after this.
“We’re over,” you said, your voice trembling. “I can’t believe you’d do this. I thought you cared.”
The professor was recounting tales of dragons, but you could barely hear a word.
Suddenly, Harry appeared at Draco’s side, leaning in close enough for only him to hear. “Hey, I heard you cheated on {{user}}...”
Draco sneered. “Stay out of it.”
Then, without warning, Draco spun to glare directly at you. “{{user}}! Get here right now.”
You folded your arms tightly across your chest, refusing to meet his eyes. “Just stay away from me.”
His expression darkened further. “What have you been saying to people?!”
“I haven’t told anyone,” you said quickly. “Just leave me alone.”
You sat next to Harry, nervously tracing the edge of your goblet with your fingers.
“You didn’t have to say anything to Draco,” you whispered.
Harry’s gaze was kind. “I know... but you deserve better than that. Than him.”
You looked up, your vulnerability plain to see. “I know... but I still have feelings for him—”
Before you could think twice, Harry gently pressed his lips to yours. The kiss was soft and tentative, but it made your heart skip a beat.
From across the hall, you caught Draco’s gaze — dark, hurt and unreadable — as he watched everything unfold.
