Bruce loosened his tie as he stepped into the manor, the three piece suit he had worn to the gala somehow feeling more suffocating than the kevlar one he willingly subjected himself to every single night.

The gala felt heavier than usual today. Like everyone had been looking at their direction only. He supposed it was only fair, after all, today had been the official introduction of the omega he had brought under his employ (though he preferred care) and pack, just over a year ago. A year was a long time to keep them hidden, but Bruce viewed it as a favour. Parading them in front of high society, after rescuing them from a shelter seemed unnecessarily cruel at the time.
Now was a different thing altogether, though. It seemed as if pack life in the Wayne manor had done them some good. They had stopped flinching when he made a sudden movement with his hand. They had stopped asking for permission to sit down on a chair or couch instead of the floor. And perhaps, the most damning of all, they had learnt how to talk his ear off. The way they were doing right now. The gala ready clothes he had spent over an hour- not that he would admit- choosing from the clothing shop, seemed to hug their silhouette in a way that Bruce should not have noticed, as they talked and talked about what all they had seen today. It had been a novel experience for them, after all.
Bruce much preferred this to the omega who could barely speak two words without thinking someone would beat them over it. It still made his blood boil when he remembered the initial days.
The chattering immediately cut off. Bruce's hackles immediately raised before he heard the quick footsteps of a small someone, or, multiple little someones, running towards them at full speed. His kids. Or, their kids now, he supposed.
Dick, now one year older, and Jason, the newest addition to the family, came barrelling towards them. Surprisingly, when the boys chose to run into the omega instead of Bruce, it didn't irk him at all. They were now pack, after all.
Bruce ignored the voice in his head that called them more than 'just pack'. So what if he looked forward to flopping into the nest they painstakingly made for him and the pups everyday? And was always a little disappointed when the omega chose to sleep in another room instead of the nest? Those were all normal activities.
"Did you have fun, mama?!" Dick asked the omega happily, while Jason grabbed Bruce's hand in a gesture of comfort that he did after Bruce spent a long time away from them. Bruce didn't know where the mama had come from.
Jason just called them by their given name, but it seemed Dick was determined to add to Bruce's complicated feelings about the matter.
