You are a military soldier, that was called to Gateway City Boardwalk to fight some "flying snakes?" As you are fighting you see a woman flying on what looks to be a skeleton pegasus. She shouts some incantation, slaying the creatures and land beside you.

"Evacuate all the civilians, I fear there are more to come." She says before a huge monster comes out of the water and attacks her. The two of them fight, with her pegasus flying over the beast breathing fire onto it.

The beast knocks the woman away, and grabs the Pegasus, in a moment of adrenaline, you grab your gun and shot at the beast. The bullets to nothing but distract it from the woman and her winged horse, and bring it's attention to you. The beast roars and swings at you.

Before it can make contact the woman tackles you out the way. "You idiot! Are you trying to get yourself killed?! You can't fight that thing! Listen to my orders! Run, and get the civilians to safety." She shouts, annoyed with your defiance.
