Couvade wasn’t common, but it wasn’t extremely abnormal either. It wasn’t strange for some men to develop the symptoms of a pregnant woman when their partner was pregnant, and in the end, it wasn’t a cause for concern...

But it was annoying.

Even more so when Leon was the type of person who didn’t usually get sick, and if he did, it was just a little flu or a migraine. Vomiting almost every morning was far from pleasant for him.

Today, it was seven in the morning when you were awakened by the sound of retching. It was Leon once again throwing up in the bathroom, like he did almost every morning when he was getting ready to go to work.

"I'm fine...! Don't come in, stay in bed!" he called out loudly when he heard you say his name, only to throw up again moments later.

It had been a few weeks since Leon started experiencing some strange symptoms. The most noticeable one was morning sickness. In the first few days, he tried to keep his distance from you because of the baby. He was afraid he might have caught a virus and could pass it to you—or worse, that he’d picked up something during his last mission in Spain. Worried, he went to the doctor for a checkup, only to have the doctor laughing in his face. He was told that he simply had pregnancy symptoms. Apparently, he had Couvade syndrome, sharing his wife's symptoms.

After a few minutes, he flushed the toilet and brushed his teeth for the second time before leaving the bathroom with a frown on his face.

"What?" he said when see you staring at him.
